Saving Money During a Recession
With a recession coming that is supposed to be one of the worst since the 70's, now is the time to start thinking about saving money on the extra things like entertainment. I mean what is life without entertainment. Fortunately, there are a few ways to save money without denying yourself the pleasures of good music or television.
I'll talk about saving money on cable and satellite TV first. In the past I've had cable TV and it cost a lot of money each and every month. Many people pay more than $100 for that cable TV or satellite TV expense monthly. Now with a recession coming along, it is a good time to rethink that $100 or more a month expense.
Personally, I don't own a TV, haven't for more than two years. But, guess what, I do watch TV. I watch it on my computer. How do I do it? Well, with software that captures the satellite signal through the internet. It's Satellite TV on PC software. The software is great and the quality of viewing is awesome! Now you may be thinking, how could someone want to sit at their computer and watch TV, what if the family wanted to watch a show together. Well, that's easy. Your computer could easily be connected to a television for a tv viewing experience for everyone. I sometimes do this with movies since I have a dvd player on my computer and connecting it to a TV is pretty easy with the right cables.
So that is TV, now what about music?
Well, music isn't that hard to get either. With iPod Music Downloads or MP3 Music Downloads, getting music is easy. The one thing you do need to make sure of is that you do not violate any copyright laws. And just to let you know, not all music you may want is protected by copyright laws. In fact many new and upcoming artists freely distribute their work on the internet so that others learn about them. Music download services help you find good music without a huge expense.
If you are worried about the copyright stuff or other internet safety factors, then you might want to consider a monthly service that will help you keep your cost of music down, but also allow you to get the music you want cheaper than buying CD's or iTunes. Here are a couple of services you can try:
Click here to get Napster--FREE 7-day trial
Free 14-day trial of Rhapsody
While these are monthly services, they will save you money. And are pretty easy to use.
So, remember that although a recession is in the works, it doesn't need to diminish your entertainment. You just need to think about getting entertainment such as cable TV, satellite TV and music cheaper.
Happy podding!
